Success

Every human being has a different perspective and meaning of success in their lives. Some people say “success” is to be happy in life, doing what they love to do every day, helping people. Some say, to be wealthy, have a dream job, high salary, nice car, the fat bank balance is the success. There are some people who judge and define success in terms of successful relationships, for them success is to be a good son/daughter, to be a good husband or good wife, to be a good friend or to be a good parent. Some of us think that to be of our values, morals, to be on the right path is the success. Some define success in terms of fame, beauty, health, following the dreams, making genuine connections etc.

Webster defines “Success” as the achievement of desired visions and planned goals.

For me, Success is setting and reaching meaningful goals in life. These goals can be one or more than the one. Yes, some goals would be personal, and some would be professional. The thoughtfulness over here is that our life goals keep changing with the passage of time. We set different goals for each stage of our life. When we are in high school the goals are different – getting good grades-when we achieved this, we became successful. After completing our studies the goal changes to acquire a good job- as we achieved this, we became successful, there are no criteria for success- It is infinite.

The biggest misconception people have about success:
We see people’s success in terms of rewards granted to them. We see people successful because they are rich, but often times their wealth and status came from working on something that meant a great deal to them, something that is their dream. Take the example of Bill Gates. Many people dislike him because he’s filthy rich, but do you think his primary aim in creating Microsoft was getting rich? No. He loved computers and loved building things.
Steve Jobs is another great example, Jobs became incredibly wealthy and famous from founding Apple, but his goal was never to become rich; it was to make world-class products- The love for design came first. The money and fame came second.
Money is the byproduct of achieving your dream. Every action has an equal reaction. If you put efforts, you will get the return out of it. But the important thing is that these efforts should be put in the right direction, and at the right time.

Successful failures:
Success and failure are interlinked with one another. Almost everyone in this world who is successful has a sequence of failures along the way. If you have not succeeded at one time it doesn’t mean that you have failed, it means you have tried one more way to become successful. With a successful failure, you have learned a valuable lesson in life. As God said, “With every hardship, there is an ease”.
It doesn’t matter how many times you have failed, you only have to be right once. — Mark Cuban

You want to be successful – Create your own competition:
I believe that if you want to be successful and move up in your life, create your own competition, build up your team, and transfer your knowledge to your juniors. This will give you the challenge to set new goals, learn new skills to achieve. These new goals take you out of your comfort zone and move forward.

Success in a nutshell:
If you are happy, you are successful. To be happy and successful you have to live up to your own standards, not the standards of the society, not the standards of your family and friend. Do whatever you want to be in your life, accept challenges, do your research, plan ahead, design the right strategy to achieve your goals. “Fish where the Fish is” and once it has done, leave the results on destiny.

He only says “BE” and it is!

And remember one thing if you have not achieved your goals despite putting right efforts in the right directions – it’s not the failure, it’s the Destiny. Everything happens for a reason, and that is the best choice for us.

Stay Blessed!
